“IDOLS OF THE MODERN WORLD”

Good day my fellow Ambassadors in Christ! Let me start this week’s Info Blast by saying that Leah and I love and appreciate every single one of you and are so thankful for all the cards, and the gifts we received for the Pastor’s Appreciation month! You are all such a blessing to us, and our hearts are filled with gratitude that you and your family choose to be a part of our LIFEhouse community of faith.

This Sunday, October 30th, I will be sharing a message entitled, “Idols of the Modern World.” Idols are mentioned in the “Big Ten” commandments of God. In this week’s message, we will explore:

• What is the definition of an “idol” based on God’s word
• How God views the idols that humankind makes
• What might be some of the modern day idols in our culture today

Knowing is equipping, and equipping prepares us for the good works God has prepared for us to do, to bring glory and honor to the Father. May we all continue to be “thoroughly equipped for every good work” that God is calling us to do, together on our mission – to guide and help others to Discover the God who is the Truth, the Way, and the LIFE; to help them Develop, and grow in their knowledge of God, and develop in their faith in Christ, and to Deploy in our unique, special, individual purpose and callings to reach our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

LIFEhouse has opportunities to serve! Which means God is inviting you to engage in His good works. We have many opportunities for you to engage in serving God through His church, LIFEhouse! Here are some areas we are looking for volunteers to join our teams:

WorldChangers kids Ministry: Join this dynamic, fun ministry led by Bill & Danielle Aird, who are doing an awesome job! WorldChangers is serving kids 4 to 11 years old. WILDfire Youth Ministry: Join this critically important ministry to our teens. God is calling those with a heart to serve young people, and pour into their lives at this transitionary time of their lives. LIFEhouse Worship Team: if you have a love for music and a gift to sing or play a musical instrument, and most importantly, you love Jesus with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love to sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to the Lord, then LIFEhouse Worship wants you! First Impressions (Welcome and Greeting Team): This is the ministry for those with a friendly, outgoing, joy-filled personality! From welcoming our new guests with your great smile, serving coffee and goodies before the service begins, to helping our guests find their seats, this is one of the most critical ministries in our church.
